4 month MRI and follow up

Just wanted to give you the 2 thumbs up on my MRI today.  Dr. Timmerman said the scans looked better than he hoped.  I've got minimal brain trauma.  Which means either I'm healing or there wasn't that much trauma to begin with.  We do have a few cyst pockets to keep an eye on, but the next MRI follow up is in 6 months!  (Which is awesome because I thought it would be 3 months from now!) 

It's really amazing  - the past week and a half to two weeks, I've finally felt like me again.  (I told Dr. Timmerman that and he said "those youtube videos weren't characteristic of you, huh?"  Yeah, yeah - that's me but you know what I mean.) 

I also asked him to explain the titanium in my head.  I was envisioning this massive plate of titanium covering the hole.  He showed me a CT scan - it is SOOOOOO cool.  I tell you more when I can post some sort of picture.  It also explains the indentions in my head.  In fact I found like 3 more after he showed me the CT scan.

I've been decorating cookies for my young women all night and now I'm about to crash.

12/11/10 - coolest anniversary ever!

Allison & Tyler Dempsey got married in December in the Dallas temple.  He and his family lived in Shreveport, LA and she and my parent's lived in Hattiesburg, MS.  They met at a YSA event.  They now live here in Texas!  Like 10 minutes away from me! 
We did a family dinner the night before and a family lunch after their sealing.  Mom made Allison's dress.  It was so dang cute!  She pretty much finished it at 3am the day of.  I really wish I could post the video of Allison dancing in her dress as she was trying it on.  We were all pretty tired and it was awesome!! 

The night before we played "The Nearly Wed or Nearly Dead Game".  It was a version of the Newlywed Game and it was very entertaining!  We wrote a pretty good song to sing for her.  (At least I thought it was pretty good.)

I really like that Tyler kid.  He's perfect for Allison.  And I really look forward to getting to know him better!

This is normal Allison and Tyler.  Sometimes they spend hours taking pictures of themselves making faces.. One time Allison got into my costume make-up - they were hilarious!!

We did this the first time 10 years ago.  Yeah Brad was 11 then.

 It was really hard to pick the pics to post!  There were sooooo many good ones. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hey look, I'm on the blog once a month plan!  It's funny that my title is Happy Valentine's Day but the post has absolutely nothing to do with Valentine's Day.  There still are a LOT of things that I haven't blogged about.  But before I try to catch up, I wanted to share my super cute new haircut!

So let's do the super quick version of my life the past few months.  My hubby's 30th birthday at Medieval Times was DELIGHTFUL!  We had so much fun.  It was my first time at Medieval Times.  And contrary to popular belief we did NOT dress up.

Snow!  A whole lot of snow.  I mostly stayed home and worked.  Icy roads are not my favorite.  Brad and I played out in the snow with the dogs.  Well mostly Brad teased the dogs til Richard let them in the house cuz the barking was making him crazy. 

Brad and I worked on a snow man that turned into a snow "cat" of some sort.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to finish his face.  (His head would have been bigger if the snow had been more cooperative.)

How about Christmas?!  I got the coolest toys from Santa.  Sing a ma jigs!!  They are the most delightful little singing stuffed animals.  I've taken them to choir (at work) and to Beehives and to my niece and nephew's house.  They were a HUGE hit in all 3 places.  The young women's president threatened my with my life if I EVER bring them to a mutual activity again.  (Hee hee hee!) 

We did gingerbread houses & a Christmas pinata with family on Christmas Eve.  Here's our winning gingerbread house.

And how about Thanksgiving?  This Thanksgiving I cooked my very first turkey.  It wasn't too bad.  Grandpa Ivie gave me superb carving instructions.  (I can't think of anyone I'd rather get turkey carving instruction from!)  I forgot to take a picture before I demolished it, but I took a couple after.



I'm gonna have to go back to the other blog and remember what else I was going to write about.  I know I've got Allison's wedding to cover (but that one is special enough for it's own post.)
