Halloween 2011

I was just looking through my blog and realized that I never posted pictures of Halloween last year.  So here ya go!

My favorite was when one of my co-workers said, "Oh, Fiddler on the Roof!  I just watched that the other day!"  She felt kinda silly when I said, "We're supposed to be Mary Poppins and Burt."  I really wish I had gotten a picture of the umbrella head that I sculpted out of clay and painted green.  I would go take a pic now but it broke!  :(  I posted these on facebook and it asked if I wanted to label Jesus' picture.  I was tempted but it seemed a little irreverant to me.  Some folks in my ward took another really cool picture and gave it to me but I can't get it to scan.  I'll have to email her and ask for it electronically.

Not bad if I do say so myself.

Presenting Elphaba and her Flying Monkey

What a cute monkey face!
Hey, I look kinda pretty in this one!
Of course you had to see the stockings!

I know this is fuzzy but I liked it anyway.

And here's a little glimpse of my bald head in contrast with the green skin.

Gotta love Dressupween!

The ghost of Halloween past

Where it all began: Richard asked if I'd help him with his costume. I said Yes. He asked if I'd be his Princess Leia. I said No. Then after 3 weeks of helping him with his costume, I changed my mind. And the rest, is history...

I'm including a picture just of Richard each year. He's so delightful - I love this man!

Han Solo and Princess Leia from Star Wars

Buzz Lightyear and Jessie from Toy Story.

Belle and Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.

The big bad wolf and little red riding hood. We kinda "called it in" this year. Don't even have a picture of the 2 of us together (but if you had one, we'd love a copy!!)

Shrek and Fiona

Hellboy and Liz Sherman
What does 2010 have in store?!

Oh and here are our doggies all dressed up!!

Annie

Molly

Tally

Angus

I really wanted a photo with all of them but it just didn't work out. (Richard totally wouldn't help me at all. He said he did his helping when he waited in line at Old Navy with me for 40 minutes. The costumes were on sale for 2 dollars each - the only reason we got them.) I love my sweet doggies.

Halloween costumes

Here we are in all our glory.

I've got a serious expression on purpose.

A little closer.

Just my honey.

After we took the horns off. (Yes he did shave his head again and yes we used super glue again.)

I really do love that we are such fun dress-up-ers.

Pirates

Yeah so, this week I dressed like a pirate at work. My team had mismatch day but I felt like being a pirate instead so I was. There is a delightful woman at work who has a parrot on her desk. (Apparently it had been in a flower arrangement from Allstate at a funeral and she was so horrified that she took it out of the arrangement and brought it to work.) So I borrowed her parrot.

I totally should have cropped this pictures but oh well!

We're searchin' for treasure ye scurvy swashbucklers!

Me and Kiwi posing

Doesn't Kiwi look like a sloth?

Oh wait - one normal smiling photo so that people know I'm not like that ALL the time.

Then there was a book fair at work where the proceeds help our service organization at work and I totally bought a book about pirates. Pretty dang cool

Arrgh matie!

Halloween shenanigans

Just a quick post with a few photos from Halloween. We sure do love dressing up. It's definitely a tradition for us. We LOVE doing couples and this year we chose Shrek and Fiona. I put most of it together from Thrift Town items. The crowd reaction was phenomenal. We had people running us down in the store to get our photo.

Richard totally shaved his head and super-glued on the ears. That's real dedication! How did I get so lucky.

We won 1st place in the costume contest.

Other costume contest winners.

Here are a couple other costumes I really appreciated.

This is Tim from my primary class

This is Melissa as a Muppet.

Star Wars birthday party

I tell you - we should go into the party business!

Here's some of the decor:

These are the awesome pizzas that Allison and I made) first uncooked then cooked:

Here's the super cool Boba Fett cake that Brad made (including the frosting) and I decorated.

Here's Richard displaying the Death Star pinata that we made:

I didn't end up with pix of the birthday boy on the camera I brought home. Hopefully I'll be able to update those this next week. I also finally got the pix of my 10 year anniversary celebration at Allstate. It was faboulous! Hopefully that post will come tomorrow.
